Good Things Come to Those That Wait
October marks the return of Phil Keaggy, Tony Levin and Jerry Marotta as they release their long awaited album, The Bucket List in addition to two very special concerts.
Considered to be one of the top guitarists in Contemporary Christian music, Phil Keaggy’s talent reaches well beyond being defined to a single genre, appealing to a wide range of musicians and fans alike. Phil has almost as many solo albums as Tony and Jerry have recorded with other musicians combined.
Tony Levin’s schedule filled up in the 70’s and has not had an opening since. He has recorded and toured with countless musicians. While considered to be one of the kings of prog on bass (what other bass player can say he’s performed with King Crimson, Peter Gabriel, Steve Hackett, Yes, Pink Floyd, etc.) Tony’s playing is just as fluid on pop and jazz music.
Jerry Marotta along with Tony were the rhythm section for Peter Gabriel almost non-stop from 1976 – 1986. One would be hard pressed to figure out if Jerry or Tony are featured on more recordings than the other. Jerry may actually win that match. If someone is keeping track, let us know!
What began over 10 years ago as a get together in Jerry’s basement studio that spawned an impromptu recording session and a live show of improvisation has finally flourished into an official release. The Bucket List will finally see the light of day on October 26th.
The week prior to the release date Keaggy, Levin, Marotta aka KLM will perform live on October 18th at the Bearsville Theater in Woodstock, NY and on October 19th at Daryl’s House Club in Pawling, NY. These rare shows will be a treat for ears that crave great music.
