Marotta is an anomaly. A peculiar Picasso painting,
a cubist conundrum, bursting onto the music scene with
no explanation and no apology. Whether
you know him for
his seismic tribal tones with Peter Gabriel in the 70's
and 80's,
his intricate percussive rhythms with
artists like Indigo Girls and Ani Difranco
in the 90's, or the
cavernous calliope conniptions with the Tony Levin Band
in
the last few years,he is a true force
to be reckoned
with.
But
that doesn't even scratch the surface. Jerry is a fantastic
singer, producer, arranger, and dabbler in many other instruments
like guitar, saxophone, and keyboards as well.
